Crossing the border at Tijuana has been a little better lately according to the CBP, but today the San Ysidro border crossing reported a waiting time of over 2 hours on its regular lanes, while the four lanes open for Ready Lane crossers had a wait of over 1 hour and 20 minutes. The foot-crossing lane had an average waiting of 1 hour and 25 minutes.
The slow border crossing was due to only 6 lanes being open for regular crossing in San Ysidro, in addition to an increased amount of tourists returning home after spending the 4th of July week in Baja California.
