Tijuana’s City Hall approved a modification to one of their laws today, to make it illegal to text while driving a vehicle in this city. The revised law clearly states that those drivers who type, read or send text messages via a cell phone or radio, will be subject to a fine between $1,869 pesos and $2,804. Texting will not be an arrestable offense in the city of Tijuana.
The new law will be enforced starting August 15th, 2012, and police officers will be on the lookout for drivers violating it, since this offense conveys one of the heftiest fines in the city’s legislation. So if you’ll be driving in Tijuana, you better keep your cell phone in your pocket!
